reelfoot lake fishing report

Reelfoot Lake Fishing Report for:
July 2nd, 2009

Lake level is barely above pool level and water temps 84 . Here's the rest:

Bluegill: Slow. Should pick back up next week

Crappie: Good. The crappie bite is good with some nice slabs caught on minnows 8-14' lower Blue Basin

Bass: Remains good. Fish are holding to shade trees out in the lake away from shore line.

Catfish: Good. Logs and mouth of ditches are the top spots. Some top ditches include Nation's Ditch and Horse Island Ditch. On windy days  use stinkbait, as the wind will move that smell a little and therefore increase your drawing power. Nightcrawlers are also a good bait.

Stripes (yellow bass) Good.  Whites Landing area on grassy shorelines.  Pin minnows fished about 18" deep on a slip bobber should work well.
