The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) and Tennessee B.A.S.S. Federation (TBF) have partnered to produce a new brochure entitled Keeping Your Tournament-Caught Bass Alive. The brochure provides instruction on enhancing survival of tournament-caught fish. Recent studies have shown that many fish die after being held and released after fishing events, particularly in the summer. Inside the pamphlet are helpful tips on minimizing post-release mortality in boat livewells and at tournament weigh-ins.
Although aimed at bass anglers, the protocols described can be applied
to fishing events for any species. Contact TWRA, Fisheries Management
