Report for October 5th, 2001

Crappie - Crappie fishing is getting even better. Jeremy went out for a few hours today and caught about 50. Now I'm not saying that you can catch em like that, but it just goes to show they are biting. Try drifting slowly through 6 feet of water, fishing a foot off the bottom. Double minnow rigs are the top bait.

Stripes - The stripe fishing is slow. A few are being caught along with the crappie, but there haven't been many good catches lately.

Bass - Bass fishing is good. The fish are being found in the lily pads more this week. Look for schooling minnows hitting the top of the surface. Top baits are spinnerbaits, plastic worms, plastic lizards and jigs.

Catfish -Catfishing is excellent. The top areas are about everywhere. Cats are being caught in a variety of areas and at a variety of depths. Try tightlining stinkbait or nightcrawlers.

Bream (bluegill) - Bream fishing is slow. That's about all you can say about it.
