Report for November 2nd, 2001

Fishing conditions have changed since the last report. The upper blue basin is still producing some good catches of crappie and bream mixed in together, but the fishing has been kind of hit and miss on the main lake. Here's the rest:

Crappie - Crappie fishing is fair. As mentioned above, the upper blue basin is one of the top areas. Try black hair jigs. Fish a foot deep in around 2-4 feet of water. Some good catches are had fishing vertically, but if the fish are spooky (clear days) back off and cast with a slip bobber.

Bass - Bass fishing is fair. The lily pads or deeper stumps are the top areas. The middle of the day is best this time of year. Spinnerbaits and plastic worms are some of the top baits.

Catfish -(No Change) Catfishing remains excellent. They are still being caught at a variety of depths, but shallow water (4 feet or so) is one of the best bets. There have been some real nice catches being brought in off the piers lately, so if the wind is up you might give it a try.  Stinkbait has been the top bait.

Bream (bluegill) - Some pretty good catches are being had on the upper end of the lake. Many are being caught mixed in with the crappie. Black hair jigs are working well in 2-4 feet of water.

   Stripes - No reports lately.
