reelfoot lake fishing report

Reelfoot Lake Fishing Report for:
December 13th, 2002

Got news that anglers are bringing in a few crappie lately. There have been some catches of 30 plus brought in and the average size has been good also, 3/4 to 1 1/2 lbs. Try fishing about 10 feet deep in around 15 feet of water on the main lake. They should be bunched up tight. So if you get in em, stay on em. Minnows are the top bait.

Look for some good crappie fishing over the next few months in the deeper water (15+) of the lower blue basin. It's one of the best times to catch good size crappie and you'll have the lake almost to your self, at least as close as it will get.

Remember to give the duck hunters plenty of room. But, that shouldn't be a problem, as the deeper areas don't have many duck blinds near.

   No reports on other species.
