Report for March 30th, 2001 Well the weather hasn't been great, but it has improved long enough to give anglers some quality fishing time lately and the reports are much better. Surface temps are still in the low fifties; The water is clear and the lake level is still 4-5 inches above what we call normal pool, which is high. Crappie-
although they aren't on the beds yet they have shown significant
movement to shallower water despite the unseasonably cold weather this
week. Most of them are holding at around 12 feet deep in 15 feet of
water. But, some are ranging in depth from 8 to 14 feet.
Largemouth-bass fishing is also excellent this week and that's
surprising considering that temperatures were in the teens a few days
ago. A few bluegills are being caught on waxworms. Catfish are still a little slow. Click
