Fishing Report For:
February 21st, 2001

Here's our brand new fishing report brought to you by Guide Jeremy Seals and it couldn't be a better one.

Jeremy fished for a couple of hours yesterday afternoon  and kept 19 crappie ranging in weight from about 3/4 pound to 1 3/4 pound in the lower blue basin area.

Minnows are the preferred bait and the fish are being caught 7 feet deep in water 14 feet deep. This is unusually shallow to catch crappie at this time of year. A few smaller fish were caught on the bottom at the same depth (14 feet).

After the water heats up during the day, the fish are really starting to bite. So, afternoons are the time to fish.

 Conditions:
The backs of coves and the shallow water are a little stained after the big rain, but not nearly as much as would be expected. The deeper water is relatively clear.
