Reelfoot Lake has always been known as a sportsman's paradise. The many remote swampy areas on Reelfoot provide some of the south's premier waterfowl habitat. Ever since the first settlers arrived back in the early 1800's, Reelfoot has attracted hunting and fishing enthusiasts from all over the country and this tradition is still carried on today.

The Earthquake of 1811 flooded this cypress area and also created one of the great natural fisheries in the country. Crappie, Bass, Bream and Catfish thrive in the shallow, stump filled waters of Reelfoot.

Waterfowl Hunting at Reelfoot is truly unique, from the metal reed Reelfoot Lake style calls, to the navigation of this swampy habitat, it is an experience like no other.

Reelfoot is also located smack dab in the middle of the Largest Flyway in the United States (Mississippi Flyway) and the refuges surrounding the lake will hold up to 400,000 ducks and 150,000 geese during the peak season. Just to see the many birds that are around is an experience in itself.
