reelfoot lake fishing report

Reelfoot Lake Fishing Report
             May 7, 2015

  SPAWN UNDERWAY…THE BITE IS ON

Jackie Wayne's Back with another fishing report on Reelfoot Lake...We'll folks it's better than it was.

Lake is about pool level....slow down and be safe. Surface temp is 68 degrees...so much better.

Crappie are back to spawning in 3 to 4 ft water. We caught several 11/2 to 2 lb. males...sporting a beautiful dark color meaning there still spawning.

I saw several fish being caught around the shore lines on jigs tip with wax worms...crappie and blue gill.

Some crappie are also being caught 8 to12 feet deep on minnows.

Bass are also spawning in 3 to 5 ft water. They are biting top water bates and jerk bates.

Blue gill are starting to bed up also around stumps, logs, and shore lines...depths of 2 to 5 feet have been prime. Bates working are jigs, crickets, and wax worms.

Catfish are doing great on stink bait in 3 to 5 feet of water.

We'll folks be safe have fun take a kid with you...

Jackie Wayne gone fishing thank you God bless.
