Reelfoot Lake Fishing Report for:
April 14, 2013

  CRAPPIE SPAWN BEGINS

  Welcome fisherman,
Jackie Wayne's back with another fishing report. Water temp, is in the 58-62 degree range. Lake level is above pool. Crappie are moving into shallow water and being caught on Strike King jigs. Colors working good are black chartreuse, chartreuse, and white chartreuse, jigging tree's, stumps, and the shoreline. Crappie are also being caught in the lower basin on jigs with minnows or double hook rigs with minnows. Bass are doing great on deep trees fishing jigs, lizards, and spinner baits. Bass in shallow water are being caught on top water buzz baits and jerk baits. Blue gill are doing good on jigs tips with wax worms fishing around the trees and shore line. Catfish are also doing good with stink bait around trees and  shoreline. Stripe bass are slow at this time.
You new comers need to get a guide for the first time, that way you will learn when, where and how to fish the lake.
P.S. The spawn is on in shallow water." Get Here Now",
