Your help is needed at Lake Isom and Reelfoot NWR's; cleanup, trail maintenance, Backyard Habitat improvements, and bird house construction. "Public Lands Day" is a chance to give a little back to Reelfoot and insure it's beauty for future generations. There will be a Friends of Reefloot Group Meeting at approximately 8:30 a.m.. Then the cleanup and maintenance will begin at 9:00 a.m. at the Reelfoot National Wildlife Refuge headquarters on the northeast side of the lake. Projects will include landscaping, cleanup and general maintenance. All things which will help to improve the refuge. By donating your time, you make it possible to get more out of the refuge with less dollars. Volunteer work like this is crucial to the betterment of the Reelfoot area and will all be greatly appreciated Old clothes and shoes should be worn. Bug spray, sunglasses, and a hat are also recommended. Light refreshments, bags and tools are provided. Please call the refuge for more information 731/538-2481. |
