Reelfoot Lake Fishing Report for: The wind has been tough lately and it's been tough on the fishermen. There was one day earlier this week that the wind laid and the fishing was pretty good, but been blowing since then and is supposed to keep blowing. Who knows what's going to bite when it does lay. Crappie would probably be the safest bet. Lake level has come up a little and is holding at 2-3 inches below pool. A good level for the upcoming duck season and the fishing. Temps are in the low 60's. Here's the rest: Crappie-They've been catching a few jigging in the ditches. Been the one place to stay out of the wind. Black/Chartreuse and Pink/Chartreuse jigs have been the colors of choice. If the wind lays try minnows in 8-14 feet of water. Bass-Slow. Spinnerbaits and small topwaters (devil's horse, floating tubes) should be good baits. Catfish-No reports. Bluegill- Slow, but there have been a few caught on hair jigs tipped with waxworms. Stripes-Slow.
