Reelfoot Lake Fishing Report for: Fishing has remained good for crappie til yesterday (Thursday). Anglers had been bringing in some nice catches and some nice sized fish. But, the cold front and coinciding winds slowed it down. It's hard to predict the weather and what affects it will have, but it's a good time of year for fishing on Reelfoot. So, get out there if you can. Water temps are around 60 degrees and the lake level is holding about 3-4 inches below pool. Here's the rest: Crappie-As mentioned, it was good til Thursday's cold weather and wind hit. Should get better again, but the exact day is never for sure. Could be today, could be a couple more days. Try fishing 6 feet deep in 8-12 feet of water with minnows. Bass-Been slow on the bass this week. Not many reports. Spinnerbaits, jigs and plastics should work well if you're trying em. Catfish-They've been bringing in a bunch on the yo-yos this week. Top bait has been nightcrawlers, but shad guts will work also. We ought to clarify on the shad guts, since some folks don't know what we're talking about. Just cut the head and tail off a minnow and you've got shad guts. Cats don't seem to like the heads and tails as much. Bluegill- Slow Stripes- Still doing well. Only problem is that Bo's Landing (the only source for pin minnows) is sold out for the season. You should still be able to catch em on white rooster tails, beetle spins and the like. They're catching em shallow and out to depths of 8 feet. Pretty fun stuff.
