Report for: March 1st, 2002

Well folks, I wish I could tell you something, but there just hasn't been much to report lately. Windy and cold conditions have put a damper on most of the fishing.
The top areas for crappie fishing are located in the middle of the lake (deeper water) this time of year and when it's this windy you just can't hardly stay out there.
Overall the crappie have been biting well this year, but there just haven't been enough reports to say how it's doing lately.
Your best bet for crappie is still in the deeper water (14+ feet).
Bass reports have also been slow and bitter cold weather coming through early next week shouldn't help things.
Late next week they are calling for much warmer temperatures, so you may want to get ready for it. A few warm days should turn them on in a hurry.
Check back, as we will post a more detailed report as soon as we get one. Also, check out last  years reports to see what to expect this time of year.
