Reelfoot Lake Fishing Report for: I'd like to apologize for the late report. Jackie is out of town visiting relatives and I've been gone the last couple of days also. Caught up with guide Billy Blakely of Blue Bank Resort today and here's the skinny. Water temps have cooled down and are now hovering around 69 on the main lake. Bluegill-Bluegill fishing is excellent. Lots of em on the beds in 1-5 feet of water. Crickets are the top bait. Crappie-Crappie fishing is just fair. They're still bringing in a few dragging minnows in the 14 foot range. Bass-Bass fishing is good. Top area is around the flat top lily pads. Billy likes a 3/8 oz. Strike King Premier spinnerbait with silver double colorado blades. He pointed out that silver is always a safe bet when the pin minnows have spawned, like now. Catfish-Catfishing remains good around the shorelines and logs. Focus on the shallow water (2-3 feet). Top baits are nightcrawlers, stinkbait and cut shad. Stripes (yellow bass)- Still slow.
