reelfoot lake fishing report

Reelfoot Lake Fishing Report for:
January 22nd, 2003

Weather conditions haven't provided anglers with much of an opportunity to try em lately. If it ain't frozen then the winds are keeping fishermen on the bank. We have heard a few third hand reports of people catching crappie in the deep water. But, they are sketchy reports and we can't really say much with any authority.

One thing we can say it that these late winter/early spring months will provide some good crappie fishing opportunities. Duck season ends this weekend and after that there should be a flurry of activity, as the guides begin to concentrate their efforts on fishing. We'll keep you posted on any reports we receive in the upcoming weeks.

If you're going to try the crappie, focus on the deepest water you can find on the lower blue basin. Minnows should be the bait of choice.
