Report for: January 4th, 2002 Duck Hunting is still making up most of the action on the lake, but we have been able to get a few second hand reports on Crappie fishing and they have been good ones. One fisherman reported having a couple of great days crappie fishing this week, catching good size fish and plenty of them. In his own words, "It's the best fishing that I've seen on Reelfoot". The most popular areas are the deeper areas in the lower blue basin. Top method is bottom bouncing double minnow rigs. If you're brave enough to face the cold weather, January and February can produce some great crappie fishing, especially for larger fish.
