Eagle populations on Reelfoot
have increased significantly in the last few weeks and now is an
excellent time to view these magnificent birds. The Reelfoot State Park has begun
their annual eagle watching tours and Ranger David Haggard reports they are seeing around 30
Eagles each day on their two hour tours.
That's enough to make any Eagle watcher happy. State Park Eagle Tours are held Wednesday through
Sunday at 10:00 a.m. and on the weekends they are running a second tour
at 1:00 p.m.. Reservations are required. To make reservations or
for more information call the state park at 1-800-250-8617. The State park will also offer a
series of special weekend programs each weekend in January and February.
Here's a list of these weekend activities: SATURDAY AND SUNDAY, 1:00 PM &
3:00 PM - Visitor Center. Observation of Eagles and Waterfowl
through a telescope, weather permitting. Programs with reptiles and
birds of prey. SATURDAY 7:00 PM -
