Eagle Watching Programs
(for Jan.-Mar. 2003)
During the 2003 Winter Eagle Season, Reelfoot Lake State
Park will provide a variety of programs in the state park Visitor
Center/Assembly Hall. Programs about the lake and wildlife will be
presented on Saturday nights at 7:00 pm. throughout the season. Programs are free to everyone and cover a wide range of interesting
topics. Bring the family and come enjoy a Reelfoot learning experience.
Here is a list of upcoming programs:
JANUARY 11TH:
Birds of Prey: David Haggard, Reelfoot Lake State Park's
Interprative Specialist will introduce you to the injured Raptors that
call Reelfoot home. He will shed some light on their importance to the
ecology and economy of this area.
JANUARY 18TH:
Archeology of Reelfoot: - Reelfoot Lake Archeologist Bill
Lawrence will teach us about the native Americans that once inhabited
Reelfoot Lake and its surrounding habitat.
JANUARY 25TH:
Eagles and Wetlands: Mr. Mack Pritchard, Education Coordinator
with the Tennessee Department of Conservation, will present a program
dealing with West Tennessee Wetlands and their importance to eagles.
FEBRUARY 1ST:
Raptor Rehabilitation: Join Knox Martin Coordinator of Raptor
Rehab for Memphis Zoo. He will enlighten you on the efforts to
rehabilitate and release injured Birds of Prey as well as let you visit
with some of his non-releasable birds.
FEBRUARY 8TH:
Nature Photography: Come and join amateur photographer Brandon
Bass as he shows us some of his best photographs while offering some
helpful tips on how to capture mother nature and all of her wonders on
35mm film.
FEBRUARY 15TH:

FEBRUARY 22ND:
Extinct Wildlife of the Lower Mississippi Valley: Naturalist
Charles Alexander will show you a variety of animals that once lived in
this region. Come and learn about some of the fantastic creatures we
have lost.
MARCH 1ST:
