REELFOOT WMA DUCK BLIND DRAWING TO BE HELD AT TIPTONVILLE
NATIONAL GUARD ARMORY
The location for the 2009 waterfowl blind drawings for
Reelfoot Wildlife Management Area (WMA) has been moved according to the
Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA). The site for this year’s
blind drawings will be the Tennessee National Guard Armory located on
Hwy 22, approximately 2 miles east of Tiptonville,TN (next to Bo’s
Landing).
“For years we have held this drawing in Ellington Hall at the Reelfoot
Lake State Park Visitors Center,” stated Jeff Martin, Reelfoot Lake WMA
Area Manager. “But due to a scheduling conflict with the State Park on
the first Saturday in August this year, we had to change locations.”
“We wanted to keep the location of the drawing as close as possible to
the Visitors Center because this location is familiar to the
participants,” said Martin. “We were fortunate to obtain the use of the
National Guard Armory which is located just a short distance from the
Visitors Center.”
The TWRA Wildlife Management Area (WMA) waterfowl blind drawings are
conducted annually across the state on the first Saturday in August. The
date for this year’s WMA drawings will be August 1, 2009. Registration
will be from 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. with the drawings to begin at 10:00
a.m.
