The Reelfoot Lake Catfishing Tournament sponsored by Reelfoot Lake Tourism was held last week and despite high winds and a lack of cooperation from the catfish, some good stringers were brought in. Mark Tompkin and Timothy Rummel from Indiana brought in the winning stringer with a 10 fish limit that weighed in at 38 lbs. and 8 oz. They also claimed the big fish prize with a 9 lb 8 oz. cat. For their efforts they received a check for $1000.00 and a trophy, plus a $100.00 check for big fish. Second place went to Edward Handley from Missouri and Michell Handley from Arkansas. Their stringer tipped the scales at 31 lbs. 1 oz. and they received a check for $500.00. Third Place winners were Robert Pillow and Michael Eubank from Arkansas. They weighed in at 27lb 7oz and earned $250.00. Second Place in the Big Fish contest went to Alan Worlow and Pamela Hale from Missouri. The fish weighed 5 lbs. even. Catfishing has slowed in the last week or two and that made the accomplishments of the winners even more rewarding. The main thing was, a good time was had by all. |
