Applications are now available to apply to hunt in a brand new waterfowl unit this year located at Bogota, TN according to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency. Waterfowl hunters wishing to hunt this new unit must apply by application (mail or internet). Applications are now available at all license agents and on line at www.tnwildlife.org . The application will allow up to a party of four hunters to apply for a three day hunt (two days on opening weekend) in priority of their choice. Hunters 16 years of age or younger may apply, however they must apply in a party with one adult 21 years of age or older. If selected, permits will be issued for specified dates and unit to be hunted. All applicants will be required to pay a non-refundable $10.00 application-handling fee. The new Bogota waterfowl unit is designed to allow for a quality waterfowl hunting experience. The hunt units will be walk in, temporary blinds only. Small non-motorized boats will be allowed. Hunters will be allowed to leave decoys out during their three-day hunt, but must remove them at the completion of the hunt. Hunters may not switch impoundment to which they are assigned. All hunting will cease on these units at 3:00 p.m. each day. Hunters will not be required to check-in or out, however hunters will be encouraged to complete a harvest survey upon completion of the hunt. The hunting units will be designed to allow all weather vehicle access to each unit so hunters may unload their equipment. A parking area will be located away from the hunting unit. Each hunting unit will have a combination of grain crops and moist soil plants for a waterfowl food source. Applications must be postmarked or received online no later than midnight Oct.5, 2005, or delivered in person to the Hunt Application Office of the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency in Nashville by 4:30 p.m. C.S.T. Oct.5, 2005. No exceptions. In case of multiple cancellation dates, the earliest official U.S. Post Office date will be honored.
